Happy Birthday Jane Austen!
She was born on December 16, 1775, at Steventon Rectory in Hampshire, the seventh child of a country clergyman and his wife, George and Cassandra Austen.
She went on to publish six novels and several short stories, all of which have continued to inspire and entertain readers of all ages.
