It's Monday! What are you reading? - First & Then by Emma Mills

A co-worker who knows I love Jane Austen recommended this book.  This is Young Adult book that is billed as Pride and Prejudice meets Friday Night Lights. So Jane Austen and football, two things I love! It's due to be published in October and I can't wait to get my hands on this book.

Description from GoodReads:
Devon Tennyson wouldn't change a thing. She's happy watching Friday night games from the bleachers, silently crushing on best friend Cas, and blissfully ignoring the future after high school. But the universe has other plans. It delivers Devon's cousin Foster, an unrepentant social outlier with a surprising talent for football, and the obnoxiously superior and maddeningly attractive star running back, Ezra, right where she doesn't want them first into her P.E. class and then into every other aspect of her life.

Pride and Prejudice meets Friday Night Lights in this contemporary novel about falling in love with the unexpected boy, with a new brother, and with yourself.

From the reviews this novel has taken the Lizzie/Darcy relationship and not much else has been pulled from P&P so it's not really a modern retelling. There are references, but it doesn't seem as if it is simply a high school themed retelling of the novel.
