For Angela Thirkell Lovers

The Angela Thirkell Society will be sponsoring an event at
The New York Public Library at the Mid-Manhattan Branch on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. (This is one day before the JASNA-NY Birthday Party Sunday Dec, 14th)

The event is titled: Carrying the Teacup into the 21st Century:
An afternoon of readings and conversation with Ilil Arbel
Dr. Arbel is the author of Miss Glamora Tudor, the first sequel to the Angela Thirkell novels, published in 2007 by the Angela Thirkell Society. The reading will be followed by discussion of the Angela Thirkell novels, with some background regarding the works of Anthony Trollope, who first imagined the land of Barsetshire which subsequently became the setting of Thirkell's novels. Questions from the audience will be welcomed!
