Tea and Talks at Chatsworth
Chatsworth is staging an ‘Elevenses’ programme of weekly talks from its experts at the Stables to coincide with the opening of the shops and restaurant this winter. Visitors are invited to come along for coffee and meet the Chatsworth team every Friday through March 4 2011.
One of the highlights will be the talk by the Duke and Duchess on ‘What We Do At Chatworth’.
The 30 minute illustrated talk on Friday 28 January will look at the challenges of living at Chatsworth today and their ideas for the future of the estate. The event will include a two course lunch in the Burlington Room.
On Friday 4 February, the Chatsworth’s Archivists will present “Reading Between the Lines.” Come and meet Chatsworth’s archivists and have the opportunity to see facsimile letters written to the Cavendish family over the past 400 years.
On Friday 25 February, Christine Robinson, Head Housekeeper at Chatsworth will introduce some of the curiosities from the old kitchens and explain their use. The other presentations and talks from experts working in the house, garden and collections teams range from winter jobs in the garden and curios in the kitchens, to rags to riches and wildlife in the woods.
The park is open every day during daylight hours and the restaurants and gift shops are now open from 10am to 4.30pm. For more information visit Chatsworth Web Site.
