My Top Five Weekly Finds Online

I would like to start off this week's post by saying that I hope everyone made it through Hurricane Irene with limited damage if any and that if you lost power you have it restored by now.

I want to start off my list with a message from a fellow member, Barbara M.:
"Since Jane Cleland is going to be our guest author at Wall Township library April 21, 2012 I thought you could suggest the gals to read her books. She has the Josie Prescott Mystery series."

I think you all should visit this page for book launch info on "Jane Austen Made Me Do It" This book contains by 22 short stories inspired by Jane Austen and her work. The stories are written by a variety of authors like Jo Beverly, Amanda Grange, Jane Rubino and Caitlen Rubino-Bradway and a lucky winner of the Jane Austen Made Me Do It writing contest.

JASNA-NY shared this lecture session that will take place starting in November at 92Y - Passion and Prosperity in English Society: Love and Courtship in Jane - The description on the site reads:
Explore the romantic dilemmas of Jane Austen’s timeless heroines: Elinor and Marianne Dashwood in Sense and Sensibility, Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, Emma and Anne Elliot in Persuasion.

Lev Raphael, writer at Huffington Post, wrote about why he loves Jane Austen.
- Loving Jane Austen by Lev Raphael - I think most of us can agree that we love Jane for many of the same reasons as well as of our own unique reasons.

This last one comes from Publishers Weekly - What's Your Literature IQ? - They found some fun literature quizzes from the quiz website Sporcle. I'll admit, I spent quite a bit of time playing some of these and they are addictive. You've been warned.

I hope you all have a great holiday weekend. Happy Labor Day!
-Amelia

Hi Janeites! Thank you for visiting our website. We invite you to comment on our content. Of course, Lady Catherine would believe us all to behave like gentlemen and ladies, so please let us not disappoint her.

Also, please leave comments in English, as only Lady Catherine, had she ever studied a foreign language, would be a great profient enough to read such comments. (Merci! Arigato! Gracias!)
